    These classes are designed and led by doctor of physical therapy students and supported by Dr. Laurie Farroni, Associate Professor of Physical Therapy and Pediatric Clinical Specialist.

    These classes are designed to meet participants at their individual levels of development and motor skills, and to promote inclusion and fun.

    Bring your bathing suit and towel and watch a movie while swimming in the pool. DJ Dash Gordon will provide the movie to watch (movie TBD), parents can swim as well.

    Lifeguards will be on duty for everyone's safety.

    There will be snacks and drinks provided.

     Beginning at 11:00am families will enjoy a lunch buffet at the Moody Gardens Garden Restaurant, followed by a day pass to all the Moody Gardens attractions and Palm Beach.

    There is a max of 20 people for this social, this social is for the immediate family ONLY including kids with Ds, parents and youth siblings. If you plan to bring other family members they will need to purchase their own tickets online or at the ticket booth, they will not be part of the GHFEDS group tickets. 

    This social is for Teens with Ds ages 13-20, siblings are welcomed and will be charged $7 per sibling.

    Please be at the waterpark at 6pm to go in as a group, gates open at 630pm, and it is mandatory that we go in as a group. If you do not go in with the group at 630pm then you are on your own to get in. 

    You are on your own for food and drinks.

    Join us for Part 2 of Homeopathy - an alternative to over-the-counter medications for common illnesses. We want to care for our family with confidence.  To do so wisely, using homeopathy, it is helpful to understand and respect the limits and necessity of traditional medical care.  Learn the simple things we can do to stack the deck in our favor to avoid illness in the first place. Then we will build on our knowledge from Part 1 to properly evaluate the circumstances, choose the appropriate homeopathic remedy, give it at suitable intervals, and determine if it is necessary to switch gears to another remedy.

    Please join us even if you missed Part 1.  It will still be beneficial.

    Bev Parrish has been using homeopathy for almost 20 years to care for her family's common ailments.  She recently completed her studies through The College of Practical Homeopathy in London and is now licensed as a homeopath.

    The Nessler Park Family Aquatic Center is an amazing aquatic venture for all ages to enjoy that features a lazy river, flume slides, cool water spa, children's play area, and much more.

    Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be provided. NO Alcohol or Glass Bottles allowed in park.

    GHFEDS, park staff and lifeguards are Not responsible for watching your children, please monitor your children at all times.

    You must register through Lumind/IDSC for their event,  the event is not associated with GHFEDS, we will only be reimbursing you $100 per family for your attendance to off set the cost to you, Please click on the link for more info and the registration process for the Great Wolf Lodge Family Weekend. IDSC ANNUAL FAMILY WEEKEND

  • Volunteers for Step Up Walk

    If you are interested in volunteering for GHFEDS Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk please register here.

    The walk will be held on October 11th from 9am - noon at Walter Hall Park in League City.

    We will need volunteers to help from 7am - noon with restocking water and capri-sun's in coolers, restocking snacks, setting up walk signs along walk path, hanging banners, placing fitted table cloths on tables, popcorn machine, monitor stage, help manage registration/volunteer/shirt/prize tables, and clean up.

    Each volunteer will receive a walk shirt and breakfast.
