  This class will be presented to our young adults with parents in the background.

  This engaging and supportive class helps young adults with Down syndrome explore romantic relationships with confidence and safety. We’ll cover how to understand crushes, set healthy boundaries, practice consent, and recognize emotional cues in ourselves and others. Through discussions, real-life examples, and interactive activities, students will gain practical tools to build respectful, meaningful connections.

  This class is presented by Shae Spears, MEd, Transition Life Coach for Teens and Adults with Disabilities.

  Homeopathy Class Part 2

  *This class is for parents only, no childcare available.

  We will briefly review the basic principles of using homeopathic remedies for acute, self-limiting illnesses.  Then we’ll move on to how to match the dosing to your unique situation, changing remedies to match changing symptoms and practical things that help the body along the path to health again. We will discuss how to begin creating a ‘kit’ of remedies that suit your particular family’s needs and a simple method to keep track of doses during an acute illness.  We’ll also address how to navigate the sometimes overwhelming amount of health information available to us today!  There is quite a bit of fear mongering in both traditional and alternative medicine camps!  Good sense and simple practices can go a long way in maintaining and regaining health after illness.
  
  Please join us even if you missed Part 1.  It will still be beneficial.

  Bev Parrish has been using homeopathy for almost 20 years to care for her family's common ailments.  She recently completed her studies through The College of Practical Homeopathy in London and is now licensed as a homeopath.

  The class is open for individuals with Ds ages 13 and up.

  Your child must be able to participate with the group, no roaming the gym or getting on equipment for safety reasons. If your child needs assistance you must help during the class due to no 1:1 coaching. 

  *If your child already attends Special Strong Kickboxing or Boot Camp classes Do Not register for this class so it will give others a chance to attend.

  *Wear comfortable clothes, sneakers, and bring a water bottle.

  GHFEDS will be offering reimbursement for your attendance to the Lumind IDSC Great Wolf Lodge Family Weekend on September 12-14. 

  You must register through Lumind/IDSC for their event,  the event is not associated with GHFEDS, we will only be reimbursing you $100 per family for your attendance to off set the cost to you, Please click on the link for more info and the registration process for the Great Wolf Lodge Family Weekend. IDSC ANNUAL FAMILY WEEKEND  

  After attending the event you will need to email your receipt to us for reimbursement.

  CANCELLATION POLICY: All rooms must be guaranteed by the individual and accompanied by a first night room deposit. Each individual has 72 hours prior to arrival date to cancel the individual room with a $30.00 cancellation fee per room. If the individual cancels the room within 72 hours of the arrival date, 100% of the first night's room rate plus tax will be charged to the individual's credit card or taken from the deposit.

  This social is for kids with Ds ages 12 and under, siblings are welcomed and will be charged $7 per sibling.

  GHFEDS is providing admission and game tokens, you are on your own for food and pumpkins.

  Please arrive at 1045 and meet at the entry so everyone can get their admission tickets and game tokens and walk in together.

  If you are interested in volunteering for GHFEDS Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk please register here.
  
  

  The walk will be held on March 7th 2026 from 9am - noon at Walter Hall Park in League City.

  We will need volunteers to help from 7am - noon with restocking water and capri-sun's in coolers, restocking snacks, setting up walk signs along walk path, hanging banners, placing fitted table cloths on tables, popcorn machine, monitor stage, help manage registration/volunteer/shirt/prize tables, and clean up.

  Each volunteer will receive a walk shirt and breakfast.

  Click on each volunteer job for a description and hours needed. Please bring your own volunteer hours form to be signed if needed.
