    Team Captains will receive 1 free walk sign when your team raises $100 or more. If your team does not raise $100+ or you want extra walk signs you will need to order here, walk signs are $50 each, please send a "Head Shot" photo and Team Name to Elizabeth Stevens at elpool@earthlink.net

    If you are interested in volunteering for GHFEDS Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk please register here.


    The walk will be held on October 8th from 9am - noon at Walter Hall Park in League City.

    We will need volunteers to help from 7am - noon with restocking water and capri-sun's in coolers, restocking snacks, setting up walk signs along walk path, hanging banners, placing fitted table cloths on tables, direct parking, cotton candy machine, popcorn machine, monitor stage, manage registration/volunteer/shirt/prize tables, monitor moonwalks/slides, and clean up.

    Each volunteer will receive a walk shirt and breakfast.

    Ecologist School Houston- Summer Camp

    GHFEDs is Offering reimbursement of $100 to One Summer camp Session- Limited to three kids with Down syndrome ages 5-12.

    Ecology School is offering a Discounted rate to summer camp. $200 for a week for GHFEDS Members only.

    GHFEDS will reimburse $100 after camp attendance and proof of payment is received.

    GHFEDS was awarded 25 tickets for 2 Houston Astros games this season, 25 tickets for each game.

    Please choose 1 game to attend, tickets limited to child with Down syndrome, parents and youth siblings.

    You will be receiving a email from the Houston Astros with instructions about the MLB App and using your mobile device to scan tickets.

    If you are unable to attend the game please return the tickets through the link that was given in the email and let us know so we can let another family register for tickets.

    The Bowling Camp is for all ages

    Siblings are welcomed and will be charged $28 per sibling, this fee is non-refundable.

    Includes 1 hour of bowling, $20 FunCard, and 2 slices of pizza and drinks. Parents are on their own for food and drinks.

    **Registration closes July 5th if you are not able to attend a date please notify us 3 days or more before the event, this is a prepaid event, if you cancel within 3 days of the event or no show you will be charged $8 per person.**

    GHFEDS would like to invite your family for our private Summer Splash Social at the Nessler Park Family Aquatic Center in Texas City on Saturday July 9th from 630-830pm.

    The Nessler Park Family Aquatic Center is an amazing aquatic venture for all ages to enjoy that features a lazy river, flume slides, cool water spa, childrens play area, and much more.

    Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be provided. NO Alcohol or Glass Bottles allowed in park.

    GHFEDS, park staff and lifeguards are Not responsible for watching your children, please monitor your children at all times.

    See park rules and policies below:

    • Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult over the age of 16 years.
    • Anyone entering the water must be attired in an approved swimsuit. Swimsuits are designed to be quick drying and are generally made from smooth nylon material. They are durable and hold up to wear from contact with pool chemicals. An appropriate swimsuit is defined as a swim garment with an affixed/ sewn inner lining that is marketed and sold as a bathing suit.
      • No gym shorts (i.e. Under Armour, Mesh, Basketball, Soffe, etc.). Linings in shorts may not qualify as appropriate swimwear. Inappropriate attire may damage our pumps and chemicals. Swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets, or metal ornamentation are not permitted on play features or slides. Thong bikinis or other revealing swimwear is not permitted. Lifeguard gear or other insignia is not allowed for liability reasons.
    • All children wearing disposable or cloth diapers must have their diapers securely closed by a pair of plastic pants that feature an elastic leg and waist openings. Swim diapers are recommended, along with the plastic pants. Please do not change diapers on the deck. A changing station is provided in the restrooms for the patrons' convenience.
    • The manager on duty has the authorization to request anyone to take a shower before entering the pool.
    • Abusive or profane language will not be permitted. Patrons engaging in harassing and/or violent behavior will receive immediate disciplinary action.
    • Smoking, other tobacco products, alcohol, drugs and gambling are not permitted.
    • Chewing gum is not permitted.
    • Glass containers and bottles are prohibited.
    • No running, horseplay or fighting in the facility is allowed. Dunking, riding shoulders, etc., is not allowed. Patrons are not allowed to throw other patrons into or across the water.
    • Acts of physical affection are not permitted.
    • Loitering is not permitted along the outside of the fence line or adjacent to the facility.
    • Only U.S. Coast Guard-approved floatation devices are allowed.
    • Only employees are allowed in the pump room, mechanical room, concession stand and ticketing booth.
    • Animals are restricted from the facility (unless the animal is a service animal).
    • The Nessler Park Family Aquatic Center Staff are not responsible for items that are lost, stolen, vandalized or left unattended. Lockers are provided for a per use fee to store personal items.

    Slide Rules

    • You must be at least 48 inches tall to ride this attraction.
    • Rider is not permitted to enter the slide until instructed by the lifeguard.
    • Do not run, jump, stand, kneel or dive onto the slide.
    • Enter, ride and exit slide feet first.
    • Cutting in line, horseplay and other unsafe behavior is not permitted.
    • Loitering on the stairs is not permitted.
    • Standing, stopping and sliding down head-first are not allowed.
    • Metal objects, glasses, jewelry, metal snaps, watches, etc., are not allowed on the water slide.
    • Swimsuits with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornamentation is not permitted.
    • Floatation devices are not allowed on the slide.
    • Keep hands inside the slide at all times.
    • Only one person is allowed on the slide at a time.
    • Move towards the exit stairs in the catch pool immediately after exiting the slide.
    • Do not cross in front of the other slide.

    Super Hero Photo Shoot

    Terri Kelly photographer is providing GHFEDS a special super hero photo shoot!

    Saturday August 27th

    9:30am-2pm

     Location: Verne Cox Recreation Center

    5200 Burke Road, Pasadena

    Individuals with Down syndrome and Siblings will be able to borrow a Super Hero costume furnished by the photographer. If larger sizes aren't available  she will have a few t-shirts and capes as an option.

    You are welcome to bring your own costume as well.

    Photo shoots will occur in 15 minute increments to include time for a costume change,

    Photo shoot times will be assigned and emailed prior to the event.

    Photos will be emailed to parents by the photographer with a digital download link.

    Each participant will receive a Super Hero goodie bag from the photographer as well!

    You must register through Lumind/IDSC for their event, it is not associated with GHFEDS, we will only be reimbursing you for your attendance. Please click on the link for more info and the registration process for the Great Wolf Lodge Family Weekend. IDSC ANNUAL FAMILY WEEKEND  

    After attending the event you will need to email your receipt to us for reimbursement.

    CANCELLATION POLICY: All rooms must be guaranteed by the individual and accompanied by a first night room deposit.
