    Team Captains will receive 1 free walk sign when your team raises $100 or more. If your team does not raise $100+ or you want extra walk signs you will need to order here, walk signs are $50 each, please send a "Head Shot" photo and Team Name to Elizabeth Stevens at

    If you are interested in volunteering for GHFEDS Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk please register here.

    The walk will be held on October 23rd from 9am - noon at Walter Hall Park in League City.

    We will need volunteers to help from 7am - noon with restocking water and capri-sun's in coolers, restocking snacks, setting up walk signs along walk path, hanging banners, placing fitted table cloths on tables, direct parking, cotton candy machine, popcorn machine, monitor stage, manage registration/volunteer/shirt/prize tables, monitor moonwalks/slides, and clean up.

    Each volunteer will receive a walk shirt and a cinch sack filled with goodies and breakfast.

    The Bowling Camp is for all ages

    Siblings are welcomed and will be charged $28 per sibling, this fee is non-refundable.

    Includes 1 hour of bowling, $20 FunCard, and 2 slices of pizza and drinks. Parents are on their own for food and drinks.

    **Registration closes July 5th at noon, if you are not able to attend a date please notify us 3 days or more before the event, this is a prepaid event, if you cancel within 3 days of the event or no show you will be charged $7 per person.**

    The GHFEDS 2022 Calendar will be dedicated in memory of Eva Marie House.

    Calendar Rules

    All ages welcomed!

    You must have a current Annual Membership.

    Registration fee is $21 per child and is non-refundable.

    Rescheduling photo shoot will not be permitted, if you can not attend the photo shoot then notify us immediately.

    You must sell a minimum of 3 calendars, calendars are $20 each.

    *Who ever sells the most calendars will be on the Calendar Cover.

    **Calendar sales will close on  September 13th at 9am, the Calendar Cover winner will be announced after closing.

    If you have more than one child with Ds you must register each child separately.

    You will be contacted by photographer Kerri Liles regarding times and locations.

    Calendars will also be available to purchase during the registration process for the Step Up Walk or at the walk itself, these purchases will not be counted towards the Calendar Cover.

    Teen Social

    Planting at Jimbo's Nursery in Santa Fe

    July 30th at 1130am

    This social is for Teens with Ds ages 13-20, siblings are welcomed and will be charged $5 per sibling.

    The kids will paint their own pots, will receive 3 plants, participate in a scavenger hunt, and have a picnic lunch with sandwiches, chips, popsicles, and drinks. Gluten Free sandwiches will be available.

    Down Syndrome Disintegrative Disorder/Regression

    Join us for a Zoom meeting with Dr. Jon Santoro, Director of Neuroimmunology at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and Keck School of Medicine at USC, he will be discussing what is DSDD/Regression, causes and symptoms, tests and treatment.

    August 14th at 2pm.
    Zoom link will be sent on the day of the event.

    Dr. Santoro will answer questions after the presentation.

    1st Annual Family Sail Away Day at Sea Star Base Galveston

    GHFEDS has been invited to have a annual Family Day at Sea Star Base Galveston.

    Deadline to register is August 2nd at noon for SSBG to order shirts and prepare for the event!

    Let's end the summer with a family day filled with fun in the sun activities!

    Includes sailing, kayaking, fishing, volleyball, swimming in the pool, and food.

    Food served TBA, you are welcome to bring your own food.

    SSBG is working on getting fishing licenses waived by the TPWD, if they are unable to get them waived then those who are 17 and older will need a fishing license for saltwater fishing, you can purchase a day pass at SSBG, individuals with Ds will not need a license but the parent will need a license.

    The SSBG is located on the bay so you will need to watch your children around the water, GHFEDS/SSBG is not responsible to watch your children.

    SSBG will be giving shirts to the families, please include your shirt sizes during the registration process.

    If you No Show or Cancel after the deadline you will be charged $5 per family to cover costs.

    GHFEDS will be offering 2 types of reimbursements for your attendance to the Lumind IDSC Great Wolf Lodge Family Weekend on September 17-19. 

    You must register through Lumind/IDSC for their event, it is not associated with GHFEDS, we will only be reimbursing you for your attendance. Please click on the link for more info and the registration process for the Great Wolf Lodge Family Weekend. IDSC ANNUAL FAMILY WEEKEND  

    After attending the event you will need to email your receipt to us for reimbursement.

    You must have a current Annual Membership to register for the reimbursement.

    Type 1 - reimbursement of $100 for members
    Type 2 - reimbursement of $150 for 2020 Step Up Walk Team Captains who raised $150 or more
